Tips & tricks

This is usually caused by the autofill function on your smartphone. When your email address is entered with this function, an additional space is added at the end. This space means that our server is unable to recognise the registered email address.

Please check that there is no space after the email address and then try again.

If the problem persists, you can contact Audi Customer Service or your preferred Audi partner.

Maybe the GPS signal is deactivated on your mobile phone. First, check that the GPS signal is activated on your smartphone and in the settings of the Audi connect plug and play app. Both signals have to be activated for the journeys to be recorded correctly.

In addition to this, the signal may be impaired in areas with poor coverage (e.g. underground parking), causing the recording to be incorrect. It is also possible that the GPS signal of your smartphone is affected or disabled because battery-saving mode is active on your smartphone. Therefore, always use your smartphone in normal mode without battery-saving mode to achieve optimum recording of your journeys.

If the problem persists, you can contact Audi Customer Service or your preferred Audi partner.

There can be several reasons for this:

• The GPS signal is deactivated on your smartphone and/or in the settings of the Audi connect plug and play app. Both signals have to be activated.\nIn addition to this, the signal may be impaired in areas with poor coverage (e.g. underground parking), causing the recording of the parking position to fail.

• The Bluetooth signal on your smartphone is not activated. The Audi DataPlug uses Bluetooth to send the Audi connect plug and play app a signal that the vehicle was parked, and the app saves the GPS data as the identified location. If there is no connection, the parking location cannot be stored.

If the problem persists, you can contact Audi Customer Service or your preferred Audi partner.

There can be several reasons for this:

• Searching by city/post code: If no Audi partner is found in this city, the results list will remain empty. We are currently working on an add-on that will allow you to see the nearest Audi partner.

• Searching by city using autofill: This function of your smartphone makes typing easier for you by suggesting words (or in this case city names) as you start typing. If you enter "Man", for example, it will suggest "Manchester".

If you select the suggestion, your smartphone will always add a space at the end, which means that the Audi connect plug and play app is unable to detect the city name correctly. Please make sure that there are no additional spaces after the city name you entered and try again.

You can only find authorised Audi partners with the Audi connect plug and play app. If the service partner you are looking for is not an official Audi partner, it will not be stored in the app.

It is also possible that a new Audi partner is not yet listed in the directory. Registration is required to ensure that you can always access the up-to-date directory. If you are currently logged out or do not have an Internet connection, an offline list of all Audi partners is saved. This is only updated with each app update.

The information about the service interval or the oil service is provided for the specific vehicle through the OBD (on-board diagnostics) interface. Some vehicle models do not send these values, which means they cannot be shown in the app.

This is usually due to timing. When you start your vehicle, all warnings initially light up for a brief check but then go out again if the function works correctly. To ensure that the Audi DataPlug does not incorrectly report this brief activation to your Audi connect plug and play app as a defect, it sends active warnings only if they are still active 60 seconds after the ignition has been switched on.

If you now switch on your vehicle but the engine is still switch off, for example while you are entering an address in your navigation system, the Audi DataPlug will already be active and the 60 seconds are running. If you then only start the engine after some time, the warnings will light up as described above and the Audi DataPlug sends them to the Audi connect plug and play app which interprets them as real defects.

If this happens to you, switch the engine off again, remove the key and then start the engine again. The warnings should then disappear from the Audi connect plug and play app.

If the problem persists, you can contact Audi Customer Service or your Audi partner's service adviser.

It is possible that various apps, which try to increase battery life and optimise device performance, terminate our background service which scans for the Audi DataPlug after some time and keep it from restarting. Samsung devices run a dedicated Samsung software for this. You can try to deactivate the services to ensure an automatic connection.

The language in your vehicle details is only changed once in 24 hours. Wait for one day and check the data again. If the language is still not changed, please contact Audi Customer Service or your preferred Audi partner.

For optimum use of the app, you should not use Audi connect plug and play while your smartphone is in battery saving mode. The following errors can occur if the GPS signal is affected in battery saving mode:

• Journeys will not be recorded correctly

• Addresses for the journey will not be displayed correctly or not at all

• The last parking location will not be displayed.

If your journeys are not recorded, this could be because your smartphone could not connect to the Audi DataPlug. If this is the case, please restart your smartphone and try again.

You can send a support request without logging in at any time. The support request is sent using the "Email" button in the app (in the "Support" menu).

After clicking the "Email" button, an email will open with prepared text that contains information from the app and makes it easier for the Audi connect plug and play support team to reply to your query.

Currently, it is not possible to select whether your journeys are displayed in kilometres or miles. The country selected in the app determines whether your journeys are displayed in metric or imperial units.
